New education unveiled for 100% Optical
Further CPD sessions announced for the 2026 show to deepen delegates clinical knowledge and showcase innovation in eye care
The second release of the education programme for the UK’s largest optical show, 100% Optical, is now live. Delivered by the Association of Optometrists (AOP) as the event’s official UK partner, the programme builds on the first phase of sessions announced in October, offering delegates new opportunities to expand expertise and refine clinical decision-making.
Delegates will benefit from a diverse programme of lectures, workshops, and peer reviews designed to address both clinical challenges and professional development. The sessions will provide practical tools to support daily practice.
Dr Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education, said: “We are pleased to share the second release of the education programme for the 2026 show, which continues to deliver practical, evidence-based learning for optical professionals across the practice team. From clinical advancements in glaucoma to the integration of artificial intelligence in practice, these sessions reflect the breadth of expertise within our sector and the commitment to improving patient care.”
Highlights from the CPD sessions include:
Main stage
- A lecture on 100% growth opportunity: converting complainers to practice advocates, led by Paul Chapman-Hatchett, Clinical Adviser at the Optical Consumer Complaints Service
- A lecture on Diagnostic challenges, advancements and future directions of glaucoma, led by Dr Sayantan Biswas, Lecturer at Aston University
Optical Academy
- A demonstration and discussion workshop on Artificial intelligence models in practice, led by Kishan Devraj, Optometrist and Founder of Clinician People
- A discussion workshop on Prevention and survival of the dreaded solicitor’s letter, led by Professor Bruce Evans, Optometrist and Visiting Professor at City St George’s, University of London
AOP Lounge
- A discussion workshop on A beginner’s guide to orthokeratology, led by Indie Grewal, Professional Services Consultant in Myopia Management at CooperVision
Dispensing workshop
- A discussion workshop on Spectacles or contact lenses for myopia management? – you decide, led by Kevin Gutsell, Dispensing Optician and President of ABDO, and Dean Dunning, Head of Qualifications, ABDO
- A lecture on Prescribing Trends in Myopia Management, led by Dr Yasmin Whayeb, Postdoctoral Researcher at Aston University
The programme offers attendees a comprehensive mix of clinical, professional, and practical learning opportunities, alongside networking and industry engagement.
The final phase of education will be announced in December.
Delegates observing Ramadan will have access to prayer rooms, Iftar refreshments and a meal voucher available on request via the registration form.
100% Optical will take place from 28 February – 2 March 2026 at Excel London.
