Early Bird registration opens for 2027 Clinical Conference as BCLA marks 50th anniversary year

Early Bird registration is now open for the BCLA’s landmark 2027 Clinical Conference, with delegates encouraged to book early to secure the best available rates.

Taking place on the weekend of 19 and 20 June 2027 in Birmingham, the Conference will mark 50 years of the BCLA, bringing together clinicians, researchers, educators and industry leaders for a two-day programme designed to deliver clinical education, hands-on learning and high-value professional networking.

Early Bird pricing will run until 31 January 2027, after which standard rates will apply. BCLA Members will benefit from a reduced member rate in addition to the Early Bird discount, offering significant savings for those who book early.

BCLA Chief Executive Brad Parkes said: “As we approach our 50th Anniversary Clinical Conference, we are preparing a truly landmark programme that reflects both the heritage and future of the profession. Early Bird registration offers delegates the best possible value and ensures they secure access to what will be one of the most significant BCLA events to date. We strongly encourage delegates to book early to take advantage of the Early Bird rates.”

The Full Delegate Package offers delegates the complete conference experience, including priority access to the scientific programme, networking opportunities and social events across the weekend. Due to limited availability, delegates are encouraged to book early.

The programme will feature five learning tracks across a two-day format, including the new Clinical Track, alongside lectures and workshops covering updates on the BCLA CLEAR initiatives in Astigmatism and Myopia, dry eye management, speciality contact lenses for complex cases, and 30 years of disposable contact lens innovation.

The conference will also take a closer look at the legacy and future direction of the BCLA while also marking the significant progress of the CLAE journal.

Key highlights across the weekend will include the BCLA Medal Address, the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture, scientific presentations showcasing cutting-edge research, clinical training workshops, peer review sessions, and an exhibition presenting the latest technologies and solutions in eye care.

The Conference will also host BCLA Celebrates, which sold out in 2025, featuring presentation of the BCLA Professionals awards,  some of which include Dry Eye Practitioner of the Year and  Myopia Management Practitioner of the Year. The BCLA also has a target of inducting 50 new Fellows to mark the Association’s 50th year.

The Full Delegate Package will have limited availability, and delegates are encouraged to book early to secure access to this option and take advantage of the Early Bird rates. A range of registration options will also be available, allowing delegates to choose the package that best suits their attendance requirements. To book, visit www.bcla.org.uk
