SCOPE supports VCHP

Longstanding VCHP supporters, Scope Eyecare, have stepped up their giving with a £2,000 donation which will help the charity to deliver even more free eye examinations around the country.

Daniel Achilles, Medical and Professional Affairs Advisor with Scope Eyecare and Healthcare (pictured left) recently visited the London Skylight clinic to see the charity’s work in action.  He explained –

“We’re so happy to be able to support the amazing work that VCHP does and the impact they have on so many lives.”

This Scope Community Fund donation will help the charity to reach the goal of providing eyecare for 20,000th patient since VCHP was set up 20 years ago.

“We estimate that administering a sight test through one of our clinics costs approximately £25 per patient. For a third of our patients, we can claim this cost from the NHS. For those who don’t qualify for free sight tests, we need to cover the cost by fundraising. This £2000 award has helped us provide our services across our network of ten clinics,” said Alison Gordon, VCHP Fundraising Manager (pictured right).

Scope have also supported the student competition and VCHP fundraiser  ‘Out of the Box Optoversity Challenge’, for the past two years, and been a generous donor of eye drops to the clinics.

Founded in 2009, Scope is a family run business with a strong healthcare heritage and now operates in the UK, Ireland and the US.
